Environment and Climate Coordinator

Reporting to the Manager, Planning and Environment, the incumbent contributes to the planning of; and implements and monitors various climate change, energy and environmental sustainability projects. This includes, but is not limited to, the research, analysis and implementation of climate change and environmental plans and policies. The Coordinator is responsible to support environmental programs that help the City of Yellowknife achieve its goals.
The work requires a degree from a recognized university in environmental science, engineering, planning, climate change or a related field, as well as a minimum of three (3) years' experience related to municipal environmental projects, energy planning, climate change, and other sustainable projects. The incumbent must be proficient in MS Office Suite, and must possess effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. The successful applicant is required to hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $89,358.76 and a fully comprehensive benefits package including monthly housing and vacation travel allowances, and a defined benefit pension plan.
